Robotic HYPAR – Robotic Fabrication Workshop

– S9 – Digital Fabrication, team : Max Mueh, Amanda Jardim, Ece Tunca and Melcia Planchart

This took place in Studio in Koln under Benjamin Kemper and Hans Sachs guide and Supervision

After preparing this model in the fablab without a robot, we set off to Cologne to test all our hypotheses and make the robot help us build it in a two-day intensive workshop. The design was flawed from the start because we designed something that didn’t need a robotic arm. However, we found an excuse to use it and faced the challenges of design thinking for one digital fabrication to be deployed in another. It was a fully interesting experience from which I learned so much from our mistakes and consider our project highly successful, thanks to the robotic arm. The design was fully based on computational thinking, but the fabrication process required other tools. We made it nonetheless with the KUKA.
