The project responds to public and cultural space deficiencies in downtown Caracas. The building is separated from the floor to create a public passage nearby a Metro Station directing pedestrian flow through the block. The passage has different types of spaces related to fast and slow pedestrian transit and  commercial stands to host local informal vendors that usually take the sidewalk and block the transit. The program was  intended to reinforce public space and cultural systems that surround the site. A Visual Arts Center to promote cultural life but also gain profit as a private institution that could maintain it´s own cultural activities. The building divides itself in 4 units, Private: basement levels – main reception, studios, sets and services for filming production and post production. Public: Ground Floor – cafes, stores and shaded sitting, main entrance to the building. Semi-public: the first three levels – auditorium, exhibition areas, library, restaurant, two movie theaters. Semi private: the last levels equipped with offices that could be rented to visual arts related professionals and a terrace.
